Yacht ownership & sailing schemes

It's not just a dream to own a yacht and it is certainly within the reach of many who thought otherwise until they heard of the charter business. But others want the benefits of being able to sail regularly, without the responsibility that comes with actually owning a boat.

To make dreams become reality Solent Sail now offers a choice of four schemes, one of which may suit you:

Ownership

You buy a boat either through a dealer of your choice or through our links with dealer to secure an extra discount

No, but you have a say in major equipment purchases and any extended cruising arrangements

Capital Costs Marine mortgage or your own capital to buy the boat None
Monthly costs Berthing, insurance, maintenance £399
(but see risks)		 £399 £200
Income 60% of any charter fees arising on the boat None
Personal use

As much as you wish, and whenever you want.

Up to 7 sailing days or nights per month that you can 'bank' and take later as required (subject to availability on the schedule)

 10 weekends per year plus bonus weekends
Risks

Boat doesn't generate as much income as you would like or uninsured  repairs are required.

Insufficient members of your share group to cover the costs of ownership.

 None, costs and benefits are fixed
Exit strategy At the end of our agreement, you will own the boat outright None as you sign up for a year at a time None as you can join or leave whenever you wish
