Different ways of getting out on the water

A book-a-berth cruise is the way to get out on the water at low cost and in a larger yacht that's fully loaded with extras. You'll meet new people and sometimes they become life-long friends

If you want the flexibility of planning your own trip, but lack the experience or confidence to charter on your own, then try a skippered charter with one of our skippers.

Our RYA approved sea school runs courses throughout the year to help you to learn to sail safely. If you're starting from scratch, you only need two 5-day courses before you are ready to sail on your own yacht.
We know that once you have your Day Skipper certificate, there's still a lot to learn and we have specialist courses to help you with close quarters boat handling, rough weather sailing and race training.

The Fastnet Race, is so much more than just a race, it's one of life's great challenges. And it isn't just one race either, but a whole campaign of training weekends, qualifying races and more.

A yacht is the perfect venue for any party weekend. Birthdays, a Hen weekend or a Stag do. You'll have a great time and your guests will remember it for years.

The Round the Island Race is always a special weekend. The 4th largest participation event in the UK with 16,000 crew on nearly 2000 boats and you can be there. Friday is practice day - race techniques and spinnaker work. Saturday is an early start for the race itself. On Sunday we relax and enjoy the boat and our new friends.

A weekend sail across the Channel. Arrive Friday pm and we're off for a night sail to Cherbourg, Fecamp or Alderney. We take turns on watch and arrive Sat morning for lunch, some shopping, see the sights and some foreign cuisine. Next morning we depart for a day crossing back to the Solent, aiming to arrive late afternoon. We run longer cruises usually taking in a bank holiday. The Channel Islands (Jersey & Guernsey), West-Country or up the Thames to London. They are exciting destinations and you'll learn a lot on the way. Normally you can do the full round trip or just go one-way and return home by public transport.

Let's not forget the Solent which is great if you want to stay local or if the weather deteriorates. It is no wonder that it is considered a yachtsman's paradise as its sheltered waters enclose enough variety to keep you interested for years. Of course Cowes is the jewel in the crown and to moor up on one of the outer pontoons on a Saturday afternoon will then give you the opportunity to watch the hundreds of yachts arriving. To the East there's Osbourne, Bembridge, Chichester, Langstone and Portsmouth. To the West, Newtown, Yarmouth, Lymington and Beaulieu. To the North, Southampton and Hamble. We have a list of the things you might encounter here. Can you identify them all?
