The Genoa Package
This package takes you to Cowes the world
centre of yachting. You will set off from your departure port in
the morning and head towards Cowes. A rough journey time is
between two and three hours. On arrival there are many places to
choose to have lunch. We will happily recommend and book
somewhere to suit your tastes. Booking in advance is worthwhile
as Cowes can be a very busy town in season.
For those people that have not been there
before it is the very hub of UK Yachting and home to the famous
Royal Yacht Squadron amongst countless other yacht clubs. Cowes
is world famous for the regattas that start from this
prestigious town. They include the first ever America's Cup, the
Fastnet Race, Round the Island and of course Cowes week itself.
The town with its narrow streets and quaint little shops has a
personality all of its own and is a fantastic place to spend
lunchtime.
Below is a typical itinerary for your day:
| 08:30 |
Arrive at your yacht in Lymington,
Portsmouth, Gosport, Southampton or Hamble. Please call to
discuss your requirements.
|
| 09:00 |
You'll receive a formal welcome from your
skipper and a full safety briefing.
|
| 09:30 |
Set sail into the Solent and head towards
Cowes. On the way there you will learn how to put up the
sails, trim them and have a go at steering.
|
| 12:30 |
Arrive in Cowes for lunch, your skipper
will be able to show you all the points of interest that
Cowes has to offer, with time for lunch and a quick look
around the town.
|
| 14:30 |
Then it is back onto the yachts for a fun
and exciting sail back to your home port. Where multiple yachts
have been booked, you will be able to put into
practice what you learnt in the morning by pitting your
skills against the other teams in a race back to where you
came from. If all of this sounds a little like too hard work
you can of course sit back and just enjoy the afternoon.
|
| 17:00 |
Back alongside to finish the day where we
hope you will have lots of good things to tell those of your
colleagues that were not fortunate enough to come along this
time.
