Different ways of getting on the water
These are some of the sailing experiences
that we arrange throughout the year including a monthly book-a-berth trip
to give you the opportunity to get out on the water at low cost in a great
boat and meet new people.
Dates and prices
will appear here when
trips are arranged.
The itinerary suggestions are of course weather
dependent and always at the Skipper's discretion. Ultimately, your safety
is our main concern.
You can come with your partner,
in a group
or on your own to make new friends. |

The Fastnet |
A very
special race, but more than just a race. To take part in the Fastnet means
that you have completed one of life's great challenges. It is also more than
just the race as there is full campaign of training weekends, short courses
and qualifying races to complete first. Our approach is that safety &
comfort come first and we are therefore unlikely to win, but if you
want to take part in a relaxed and well-equipped boat, we have the answer.
Check our dedicated Fastnet page for more details.

Race weekend special |
|
The Round the
Island Race in June is always a rather special weekend for sailing
and you can be there with our charter-a-berth option.
- Firstly we spend
a day out on the water, practicing spinnaker handling -
hoists, gybes and drops.
- Then on
the Saturday, we are taking part in the famous Round the Island race
itself along with some 1600 other boats.
- Finally we
have the Sunday to relax and enjoy the boat and our new found friends.
Can you afford
to miss all that?

Cross Channel Hop |
A very popular weekend trip
to Cherbourg. Arrive at the boat on Friday evening after work and have a
meal ashore. After a briefing by the skipper on safety and watches, you
will set sail for an overnight crossing taking turns to keep watch or
sleep. Arrive in Cherbourg the following morning for a relaxing lunch, a
chance for some shopping or visit the superb museum. After some French
cuisine for dinner, you'll retire for an early night and a dawn start on
Sunday. A day crossing back to the Solent should see you arrive late
afternoon.

Channel Islands
Adventure |
This is a longer cruise, usually
taking in a bank holiday. Crossing the Channel directly to the Channel
Islands or with an overnight stop in Cherbourg. We would aim to visit
Jersey or Guernsey and one of the smaller islands such as Sark. On the
return we might stop in Alderney for a final meal before crossing back to
the Solent via the Needles Channel.

South Coast
Cruise |
If you prefer to stay in sight
of land and see the sights as we go, we can cruise along the British
coast. To the West there is Poole or Weymouth and to the East there is
Brighton or Eastbourne. Any of these destinations are a challenge for a weekend,
with Weymouth being some 60 miles each way
and you will come back feeling like you have had a very full weekend.
Occasionally we run longer trips that can take up to a week and if you get a
group of people together, you can go where you like and for as long or as
short as you like.

Solent Stopovers |
|
Let's
not forget the Solent which is great if you want to stay local or if the
weather deteriorates. It is no wonder that it is considered a yachtsman's
paradise as its sheltered waters enclose enough variety to keep you
interested for years. Of course Cowes is the jewel in the crown and to moor
up on one of the outer pontoons on a Saturday afternoon will then give you
the opportunity to watch the hundreds of yachts arriving. To the East
there's Osbourne, Bembridge, Chichester, Langstone and Portsmouth. To the West,
Newtown, Yarmouth, Lymington and Beaulieu. To the North, Southampton and
Hamble. We have a list of the things you might encounter
here. Can you identify them all? |
