February 2-day w'end Fri eve 12 to Sun 14 | | Valentines Day Cruise Start the year with a cruise along the Solent to Newtown Creek or Alum Bay and overnight in Yarmouth or Lymington. Nothing too ambitious for this trip, the emphasis being on socialising.
March 2-day w'end Fri eve 12 to Sun 14 | | Mile-building cruise to Cherbourg It's a bit of a gamble because you never know what the weather will throw at us in March, so there are two plans likely. If the weather forecast is good (Wind F3 to F5), we go foreign to Cherbourg where you can enjoy some French cuisine and stock up on some French wines to bring home (limits apply). If stronger winds are forecast, we can stay in the Solent or head along to coast to Poole. Whatever the destination, you'll get a great deal from the trip, helping to crew the boat - helming, trimming sails and watch keeping
April 4-day w'end Thur eve 1 to Mon 5Easter | | Easter Cruise to Cherbourg & Guernsey Our 4 day cruise across the Channel is always popular and was featured in Sailing Today a couple of years ago. Our first port of call is Cherbourg before we head through the Alderney race on our way to Guernsey. You'll have time to explore and pick up some duty free bargains before we head back, stopping at Alderney on the way if there's time, before our Channel crossing on Monday.
April 2-day w'end Fri eve 16 to Sun 18 | | JOG race around the Nab tower & Cowes Our first race of the JOG race season, this is a gentle start from Cowes out to the Nab tower and back to Cowes. Depending on the wind, it could last anything from a couple of hours to all day. After socialing in Cowes on Saturday night, we'll have a leisurely start on Sunday and go over the race tactics we did for real the day before.
April/May 4-day w'end Thur eve 29 to Mon 3 May | | Bank Holiday across the Channel We meet on Friday or Thursday evening and use Friday to get familiar with the yacht. Weather permitting we sail for France either on Friday night or early on Saturday morning to Cherbourg or St Vaast approx 85Nm away. There should be time for some sight-seeing and then we can take advantage of the local cuisine before an early start on Sunday for the trip back across the Channel to Weymouth or Poole. From there we return on Monday aiming to get back around 17:00.
May 2-day w'end Fri eve 14 to Sun 16 | | RORC's De Guingand Bowl race Take part in this RORC race in to the Channel. With a start off Cowes on the Saturday morning, the race course is flexible and designed to last between 24 and 36 hours depending on the weather conditions. The race should therefore complete around Sunday lunchtime, after which we will have lunch on board and then cruise back to Gosport. Overall, an excellent mile building opportunity and a chance to experience offshore racing within just a weekend.
May 4-day w'end Thur eve 27 to Mon 31 | | Royal Ocean Racing Club Myth of Malham Race (Round Eddystone Lighthouse)Take part in the Royal Ocean Racing Club's race from Cowes to the Eddystone lighthouse and back. A true long-distance race, this is a fantastic chance to take part in a major offshore race and build miles at the same time. We meet on Thursday evening and get familiar with the yacht before setting of on Saturday for the start at 11:50. The race commences at Cowes, heads West down the Solent then out past the Needles and along the coast passing the tidal gates at Portland Bill and Start Point before reaching the Eddystone rock off Plymouth. The return leg follows a similar route finishing just outside the western end of the Solent. The tides make this race a challenge to complete and it takes us along the first 1/3 of the Fastnet course. Last year's winds were very light but we had to finish as a Fastnet qualifier, and we were therefore out until the Tuesday morning. This year however we will ensure that we are back on the Monday evening at the latest.
Jun Fri eve 11 to Sun 13 | | Cross Channel Sprint to Cherbourg Join the yacht after work on Friday evening and settle in. We'll have a safety briefing and then when everyone is ready set off to sail down the Eastern side of the Isle of Wight and out across the Channel having a meal on the way. Overnight there'll be time to get some rest in between being up on deck on watch, particularly as we cross the shipping lanes when a good look out is essential. Our aim will be to arrive in Cherbourg late on Saturday morning giving time to do some shopping or sightseeing. On Saturday night we'll head in to town for a good French meal before getting an early night in the Marina. We depart at dawn on Sunday morning for a day crossing back across the Channel, coming back in to the western end of the Solent if wind and tide permit. Our aim will be to get home to Gosport around 17:00.

June 2-day w'end Fri eve 25 to Sun 27 | | South Coast 'Jurassic Coast' sprint to Weymouth One of our most popular remote destinations for a weekend and involving some night sailing. Weymouth is a great destination being very picturesque for those arriving by sea, but also a lively seaside town. Infamous as the port where the Black Death entered England, but now better known as a great seaside resort and the party atmosphere on a Saturday night. Along the way you'll sail across Poole Bay, around St Alban's head, along the spectacular Jurassic Coast and may stop for tea and a swim in Lulworth Cove or Worbarrow Bay (voted as one of Britain's top 10 anchorages). There is a JOG yacht race to Weymouth on this weekend and if there is interest, we will join the race to add another dimension to the trip. No race experience is necessary.
June 2-day w'end Fri eve 25 to Sun 27 | | SOMETHING DIFFERENT Cross-Channel Hop to Cherbourg On our luxurious Lagoon 380 catamaranWeather permitting (and it is June, we depart late on Friday evening from Weymouth for a night sail across to Cherbourg where you can enjoy some great French cuisine and stock up on some French wines to bring home (limits apply). We'll visit a nice French restaurant on Saturday night before retiring for an early start on Sunday to Sail back to Gosport by about 5. Plans are of course weather dependent, but whatever the destination, you'll get a great deal from the trip, helping to crew the boat - helming, trimming sails and watch keeping.
July 3-day w'end Thur eve 1 to Mon 5 OR 7 day cruise to Fri 9 | | Cross Channel to Jersey Lots of options for this trip which could be a quick hop across the Channel or a week long extended cruise - all for the same price. Firstly you'll join the boat on Friday evening or very early on Saturday morning. We start by heading West down the Solent, out past the Needles and straight across the Channel to Alderney. After a meal ashore and a night in harbour, we depart to the west of Alderney down to Guernsey where we spend Sunday night. On Monday we leave for Jersey where we will arrive by lunchtime. You then have two choices, stay on the boat and relax before the return leg on Thursday evening / Friday or if you can't stay with us catch the ferry back. If you are in a hurry, you could even fly. On the return leg we take the direct route through the Alderney race, sailing if possible, but using the engine if necessary to maintain speed. We may stop overnight again in Alderney or Cherbourg. It could still take 20 hours, so we won't be back until late Friday afternoon or early evening. If you choose this option, there is no extra charge, but you will need to pay for some food whilst staying in Jersey. One further option is that if you need to get back promptly for work on the Monday, you can catch the ferry back from Guernsey on the Sunday. Or there are also direct flights from Guernsey. Overall this is another great opportunity to experience crossing the Channel and to visit three ports a little bit more distant than the norm, all in one exciting long weekend. Note that onboard food is included except for Tuesday and Wednesday if you choose to stay on the boat in Jersey.
July 6 day event Fri eve 16 to Fri 23 | | Long cruise to the West Country A fantastic opportunity to take part in our longest trip of the year down Channel to the West Country. The trip starts on Saturday 17 July and will return on Friday 23 July. During the week, the exact plan is weather dependent, but could include the following: Saturday - Gosport to Brixham 100Nm Sunday - Brixham to Salcombe 25Nm Monday - Salcombe to Falmouth 50Nm Tuesday - Falmouth to St Mary's 60Nm Wednesday - St Mary's to Helford 60Nm Thursday - Helford to Dartmouth 65Nm Friday - Dartmouth to Gosport 100Nm A total of some 460Nm We'll sail as much as possible, but if winds are light we may have to motor to stay on schedule. Equally if gales are forecast, we may have to stay in port and cut the plan short. In any event we will cover a lot of miles and visit some beautiful ports. In each case we'll aim to get in early to give you a chance to explore a little.
July 3 day event Fri eve 23 to Mon 26 | | Cross Channel Another trip across the Channel, starting late on Friday or early on the Saturday morning and to arrive some 10 to 12 hours later. August 2-day w'end Fri eve 7 to Sun 9 | | Cowes week FIREWORKS cruise A charter-a-berth trip to see the fireworks that mark the end of Cowes week. This really is a spectacular display, made all the more special by watching if from the water with hundreds if not thousands of other boats around you. Our boat will aim to depart by 18:00 in time to reach Cowes for the start of the display at 21:30. If there is room, we will pick up a buoy or anchor to enable us to watch the show in peace. You can relax on deck with a glass of wine or a cup of tea as you prefer. When the show finishes, the boat will head on down the Solent to spend the night in one of the nearby harbours. On Saturday, the plan is to head further west to Yarmouth or Lymington, probably stopping somewhere like Studland Bay for lunch. There may be time for a swim in the warm summer waters! On Sunday, after a leisurely breakfast, we depart for the sail back home, aiming to arrive back in Gosport at around 17:00. | Full

Our route matches that of the JOG race starting at 19:30 so we will cruise in company and see how we well we match the race fleet. Our aim will be to arrive in Fecamp some 80 miles to the Southeat late on Saturday morning giving time to do some shopping or sightseeing. On Saturday night we'll head in to town for a good French meal before getting an early night in the Marina. We depart at dawn on Sunday morning for a day crossing back across the Channel. October 2 day w'end Fri eve 8 to Sun 10 | | Late summer cruise to Weymouth One of our most popular cruises, but quite challenging for a weekend and involving some night sailing. Weymouth is a great destination being very picturesque for those arriving by sea, but also a lively seaside town. Infamous as the port where the Black Death entered England, but now better known for the many parties taking place on a Saturday night. On the way we cruise out past the Needles across Poole Bay, along the Jurassic Coast passing close inshore of the overfalls off St Albans Head. There may be a chance to anchor for tea and a swim in Lulworth Cove or Worrbarrow Bay (voted one of the top 10 anchorages in the country). At Weymouth we'll pass through the lifting bridge to berth in the marina. On Sunday there may be time to visit Portland Harbour before returning. | £199 + £20
October 2 day w'end Fri eve 22 to Sun 24 | | Early Gamble Cruise It's a bit of a gamble because you never know what the weather will throw at us in October, so there are several plans possible. If the weather is poor we stay in the Solent and visit Newtown or Beaulieu and Lymington or Yarmouth. Whatever the destination, you'll get a great deal from the trip, helping to crew the boat - helming, trimming sails and watch keeping. And if the weather does turn into a blow, you might get to find out what a yacht can do with three reefs and 40 knots! | £199 +£20
November 2 day w'end Fri eve 12 to Sun 14 | | Late Gamble Cruise It's another gamble, because November is even more unpredictable than in October. The plan may involve visiting some Solent harbours or take us a little further to somewhere like Poole or Brighton. | £199 + £20
December 2 day w'end Fri eve 10 to Sun 12 | | Shortest Day Cruise Well actually just before the shortest day, but its close enough. So some night sailing will definitely feature in this trip along the coast to Brighton or Poole (or within the Solent if weather dictates). Whatever the destination, you'll get a great deal from the trip, helping to crew the boat - helming, trimming sails and watch keeping. | Only £169 + £20
